In Thursday night's 2014 NBA Draft, Creighton superstar Doug McDermott will likely be a first round pick. The fifth-leading scorer in NCAA Division I men's basketball history would become the second first-round pick from Ames (Iowa), joining former teammate Harrison Barnes, who was selected seventh overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2012.

Going a step farther, some former high school teammates are even lucky enough to have been drafted in the first round in the same year (most recently Terrence Ross and Terrence Jones from Jefferson High of Portland, Oregon in 2012).

Basketball powerhouse Oak Hill Academy is no surprise at the top of the list with 15 first-rounders since 1990, led by All-Star Carmelo Anthony and MVP Kevin Durant, who attended the school for a year before transferring. Next is New York City power Christ the King with five, including former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Lamar Odom.
