Soccer Game Preview: Taft vs. Amundsen

The Taft Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Amundsen Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Taft's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Marine Leadership Academy. Esmeralda Torres had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Taft.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Amundsen rose to the challenge on Monday. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with an 8-0 win. Amundsen have beaten Westinghouse the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Westinghouse has come to flipping the script.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 4-7-2. As for Amundsen, the win got them back to even at 7-7-1.

Taft couldn't quite get it done against Amundsen when the teams last played back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
