Basketball Recap: Burges Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Burges won the last time they faced Loretto and things went their way on Friday too. The Burges Mustangs took down the Loretto Angels 44-25. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Angels are ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the fifth in a row for Burges, bringing their record for this year to 9-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points per game. As for Loretto, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8.

Burges will take on San Elizario in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loretto and Andress will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
