Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Christian Eagles vs. Connelly School of the Holy Child

The Evergreen Christian Eagles will face off against Connelly School of the Holy Child at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Evergreen Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to SEED DC. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 145th in Virginia, while SEED DC are ranked third in District of Columbia).

Despite the defeat, Evergreen Christian had strong showings from Adriana Jenkins, who went 9 for 15 on her way to 22 points and eight rebounds, and Camryn Bullet, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and five steals. Jenkins' afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Connelly School of the Holy Child was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 50-49 to St. Andrew's Episcopal.

Evergreen Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Connelly School of the Holy Child, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
