Basketball Recap: Garland Takes a Loss

Garland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Wylie East Raiders, falling 67-42. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1205th, while the Raiders are ranked 224th).

Despite the loss, Garland still got an impressive performance from Luca Perez, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Ibeneme, who put up nine points.

Garland's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Wylie East, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.

Garland will venture away from home to challenge North Garland at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wylie East, they will challenge Wylie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
