Basketball Game Preview: Effingham County Rebels vs. Evans Knights

The Effingham County Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Evans Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Friday, Effingham County didn't have quite enough to beat Greenbrier and fell 46-43. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Wolfpack are ranked 142nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evans). They walked away with a 76-64 victory over Lakeside on Friday.

Effingham County has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Evans, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.

Effingham County was able to grind out a solid victory over Evans in their previous meeting on Thursday, winning 67-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Effingham County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
