Volleyball Game Preview: Central A & M Raiders vs. Heyworth Hornets

The Central A & M Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Heyworth Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Central A & M came up short against Shelbyville and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Heyworth also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Tri-Valley by a score of 2-0. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19.

Central A & M will have to contain Lyla Tate as she made an impact in Heyworth's last game. She had eight kills and three digs. Tate has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more kills the last 13 times she's played.

Heyworth's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Central A & M, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Central A & M couldn't quite get it done against Heyworth in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
