Recap: Gateway Olympians vs. Palmer Terrors

The Gateway Olympians fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Palmer by a score of 24-17 on Friday. This was payback for Gateway, who suffered a 54-18 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Knyle Serrell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 261 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Michael Washington also helped out as he racked up 113 rushing yards.

Arvell Amos and Dyson Sharpton, Palmer certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Amos picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Sharpton rushed for 116 yards. Amos' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

Gateway's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Palmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Gateway will be playing in front of their home fans against Centaurus at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Centaurus will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Palmer, they will head out on the road to face off against Hinkley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hinkley is on a four-game streak of home losses, Palmer a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
