Softball Recap: Westfield Area Comes Up Short

Westfield Area lost against Amherst back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pioneers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 9-8.

Izzy Nelson and Natalie Grant did some serious damage despite the final result: Nelson scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Grant scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Halle Drew, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Westfield Area now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Westfield Area and Amherst will both be playing Wittenberg-Birnamwood the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Pioneers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
