Baseball Game Preview: Huntingdon Mustangs vs. Milan Bulldogs

Huntingdon hasn't had much luck against Milan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Huntingdon will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Huntingdon beat McKenzie 5-2.

Meanwhile, Milan posted their closest victory since March 6th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Gibson County 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won four in a row.

Jaydon Moore looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Morris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.

Huntingdon pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Milan, their record is now 4-10.

Everything went Huntingdon's way against Milan in their previous meeting last Monday, as Huntingdon made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
