Delta has gone 8-2 against Basalt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Longhorns at 1:00 p.m. Delta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Delta fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Rifle on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 9-8.
Alex Mack was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other pitching news, Gage Lehrman got Delta off to a strong start despite the final result, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Lehrman has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Delta got a big performance out of Gavyn Gibson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jhett Ryan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Basalt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Coal Ridge, falling 12-1.
Delta's record is now 11-8. As for Basalt, their record now sits at 7-9.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Delta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Basalt struggles in that department as they've averaged .312. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Delta's way against Basalt in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Delta made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
