Basketball Game Preview: Summerville Green Wave vs. Woodland Wolverines

The Summerville Green Wave will venture away from home to face off against the Woodland Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summerville will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Monday, Summerville beat Nation Ford 59-46. Given the Green Wave's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Falcons are ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Woodland suffered their closest defeat since January 23, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Stall by a score of 34-31. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Summerville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Summerville took their win against Woodland when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 54-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Summerville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
