Soccer Game Preview: Huntsville vs. Rudder

The Huntsville Hornets will square off against the Rudder Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Huntsville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Things were looking good for Huntsville after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Kingwood Park by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Panthers are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, Rudder's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bastrop by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Rangers' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rudder fell to 4-1. As for Huntsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Huntsville took their win against Rudder in their previous matchup back in January of 2017 by a conclusive 8-1. Will Huntsville repeat their success, or does Rudder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
