Basketball Recap: Lincoln Park Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kyle Lexer and Tamario Mcleod

Lincoln Park Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Port St. Lucie Jaguars, falling 57-31. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-34 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lincoln Park Academy had strong showings from Tamario McLeod, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points in addition to six boards and four blocks, and Kyle Lexer, who posted five points. Those four blocks gave McLeod a new career-high.

Port St. Lucie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Graham led the charge by putting up eight points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Veach, who put up 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Lincoln Park Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Port St. Lucie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-14.

Lincoln Park Academy and Port St. Lucie could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Lincoln Park Academy (ranked 705th) will meet Treasure Coast (ranked 183rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Port St. Lucie will challenge Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 356 places (422 vs. 66).
