Softball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Lexington's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Rossview Hawks on Friday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Lexington got a good showing from Lauren Johnson, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Lexington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Holly Bartholomew, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Bartholomew has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. Rossview has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Lexington has already played their next match, a 9-0 win against Dresden on the 21st. As for Rossview, they will square off against McNairy Central at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
