Softball Game Preview: Hartland Eagles vs. Clio Mustangs

Hartland is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Clio is on an eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hartland's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.

Hartland's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Belleville as they made off with a 10-0 win. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly ten runs.

The team relied heavily on Skylar Spisz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Mach, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Clio nor Davison made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Mustangs came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 5-1.

Addie Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kelcy Sperling was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Clio has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Hartland, their win bumped their record up to 13-8-1.
