Basketball Recap: Mullen Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Mullen extended their home winning streak to six games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Riley Hegland. The Mullen Broncos took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-29 victory over the Brady Eagles thanks in part to Hegland, who went 9 for 16 on her way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Paxton, who posted nine points and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played.

Mullen's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Brady, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Mullen and Wallace will face off at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Mullen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. As for Brady, they will head out to challenge Overton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
