Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Mount St. Mary

Mount St. Mary came out on top against Bishop McGuinness on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Rockets skirted past the Fighting Irish 6-5. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Fighting Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jefferson Hodge and Parker Hayes made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Hodge tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hayes tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hodge has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hodge went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Hayes went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Grayson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. Sam Grayson was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
