Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beau Chene). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Opelousas Tigers an 18-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

Beau Chene's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Opelousas, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beau Chene will face off against Rapides at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.24 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Opelousas, they are taking a road trip to take on Beau Chene at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
