Soccer Game Preview: Buena vs. Cienega

Buena is 0-10 against Cienega since January of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Buena Colts will take on the Cienega Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Buena sitting on seven straight wins and Cienega on five.

On Tuesday, everything went Buena's way against Pueblo as Buena made off with a 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won five contests by five goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cienega made easy work of Flowing Wells on Tuesday and carried off a 5-1 win. The Bobcats is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the five game they've won by 3+ goals or more this season.

Buena pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four matches. As for Cienega, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Buena suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Cienega in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Buena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
