After a string of six wins, Bishop Gorman's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Mater Dei Monarchs by a score of 2-1. The Gaels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Monarchs earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Ayanna Watson paced Bishop Gorman's offense, picking up 14 kills. Watson got some help from Trinity Thompson and her 20 assists.

Bishop Gorman's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Mater Dei, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Bishop Gorman has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Sunrise Mountain on the 27th. As for Mater Dei, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Marymount on the 27th.
