Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson lost against Martinsburg back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Jefferson Cougars fell 63-56 to the Martinsburg Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Bulldogs are ranked fifth).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Martinsburg, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Jefferson will be playing at home against Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Martinsburg, they will head out on the road to square off against Hedgesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Martinsburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
