Baseball Recap: Yates Extends Winning Streak to Five

Yates put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Worthing Colts. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colts, too.

Kylen Nicholson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Nicholson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Devon Pruitt was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Six bases. while going 2-for-2. Lloyd Craig was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Yates' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Worthing, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Yates will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against North Forest at 7:00 p.m. on March 17th. Worthing also won't see the field for a while: their next match is against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on March 17th.
