Recap: River Ridge Knights vs. New Manchester Jaguar
With a playoff game on the line, the River Ridge Knights rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down the Jaguar 71-56. The victory was nothing new for River Ridge as they're now sitting on 17 straight.
River Ridge was led to victory by Sophia Pearl and Allie Sweet. Pearl scored 26 points, while Sweet dropped a double-double on 22 points and 23 rebounds. Sweet is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 20 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Cleaveland, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
River Ridge's win bumped their record up to 25-4. As for New Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-6.
River Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Tift County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tift County is on a 12-game streak of home wins, River Ridge a 18-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. New Manchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
