Softball Recap: Tucker County Starts off Right with Win over East Hardy

Tucker County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the East Hardy Cougars on Tuesday as Tucker County made off with a 14-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.

Tucker County got a massive performance out of MaKenna Evans, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sutton Pase was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Tucker County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Hardy only posted a batting average of .286.

East Hardy dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Tucker County will take on Gilmer County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tucker County will need to watch out since Gilmer County has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for East Hardy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Petersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
