Basketball Recap: Browne Bruins vs. Camelback Spartans
Browne lost against Camelback back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Browne Bruins had to suffer through a 76-42 loss at the hands of the Camelback Spartans. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-20.

Browne lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Karmello Walker, who posted seven points and eight boards. Walker has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Tony Bayigamba was another key player, putting up seven points and ten boards.
Even though they lost, Browne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.
Camelback got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aken Logan out in front who put up 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Manuel Bandera also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.
Browne's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Camelback, they moved to 3-11 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.
Browne and Camelback could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Browne will square off against Cesar Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 159 places (225 vs. 66). Meanwhile, Camelback (ranked 209th) will meet Maryvale (ranked 103rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
