Basketball Recap: Concord Christian Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Cross

On Friday, the Concord Christian Lions strolled past the Cross Stingrays with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 206th in Tennessee, while the Stingrays are ranked 79th in South Carolina).

Concord Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Cross, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Concord Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Clinton at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Clinton will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Concord Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cross, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Durham Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
