Basketball Recap: Plymouth Comes Up Short

Plymouth won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Warsaw Tigers and fell 75-35. The Pilgrims/Rockies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-18.

Brooke Zartman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Warsaw, going 7 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and five steals. The game was Zartman's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joslyn Bricker, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Plymouth moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Warsaw, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plymouth will head out to face off against Glenn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenn's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Plymouth's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Warsaw, they will venture away from home to square off against Columbia City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Warsaw knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Columbia City likes a good challenge.
