Baseball Recap: Bloomington South Extends Winning Streak to Four

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bloomington South had no problem doing just that on Monday. They skirted past the Bloomington North Cougars 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Reid Walker was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Max Surdam, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Bloomington South's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Bloomington North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-9 record this season.

Bloomington South will take on Columbus North at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bull Dogs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Bloomington North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
