Baseball Recap: David Crockett Triumphs

David Crockett took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Daniel Boone, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers skirted past the Trailblazers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pioneers have posted against the Trailblazers since April 25, 2022.

Nolan Street was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of David Crockett's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 10-16 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Elisha Rice, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: David Crockett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 8.8.

The win made it two in a row for David Crockett and bumps their season record up to 12-17. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Daniel Boone, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-10-1.
