Soccer Game Preview: Globe vs. Coolidge

Globe is 1-9 against Coolidge since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Globe Tigers will square off against the Coolidge Bears at 4:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Globe is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to Florence.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Coolidge's offense. They came up short against Yuma Catholic on Wednesday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 46th).

Coolidge has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Globe, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Globe came up short against Coolidge in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Globe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
