Flag Football Recap: Laguna Creek Takes a Loss

Laguna Creek lost against Monterey Trail back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals came up short against the Mustangs, falling 35-14. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.

Although Laguna Creek took the loss, they still got scores from Lilliana Gonzalez and Avaya Warner.

Even if they lost, Laguna Creek's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Warner was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three herself.

This is the second loss in a row for Laguna Creek and nudges their season record down to 4-13. As for Monterey Trail, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Laguna Creek will challenge Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monterey Trail, they will face off against Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
