Basketball Game Preview: Wylie Pirates vs. Sachse Mustangs

The Wylie Pirates will take on the Sachse Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Tuesday, Wylie beat North Garland 68-58. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Raiders are ranked 700th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Sachse over Garland in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Sachse blew past Garland 67-45.

Wylie better keep an eye on Brayden Banks. He was instrumental in Sachse's win, going 9 of 13 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Banks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Young, who posted ten points.

Wylie is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Sachse, they pushed their record up to 11-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
