Baseball Recap: Benton Academy Comes Up Short

Benton Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Manchester Academy Mavericks, falling 8-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Benton Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Manchester Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Benton Academy will venture away from home to square off against Raleigh at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manchester Academy, they will square off against Indianola Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Manchester Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
