Softball Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Hauser Jets
Trinity Lutheran has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Hauser Jets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Thursday, Trinity Lutheran came up short against Columbus East and fell 8-4.
Grace Lance put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. Lance has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. Like Trinity Lutheran, Hauser also got a great game from a two-way player: Paige Mcdaniel. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Mcdaniel was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haylin Campbell, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Trinity Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Hauser, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
