Basketball Game Preview: Ribault Trojans vs. Stranahan Mighty Dragons

After both having extra time off, the Ribault Trojans and the Stranahan Mighty Dragons will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Ribault's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.

Ribault is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Thursday. They put the hurt on Rickards with a sharp 62-37 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Kaden Toure and Kaleb McDuffie were among the main playmakers for Ribault as the former shot 50% from the field on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds and the latter posted 11 points and four steals. The match was Toure's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Jamian Jackson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Stranahan waltzed into their contest last Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Sabres by a score of 72-61. Given the Mighty Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Sabres are ranked 76th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stranahan's win came from a few key players Ribault will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was David Nealy, who scored 24 points. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damari Foster, who put up 17 points.

Stranahan was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Ribault has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. Stranahan's record now sits at 23-7.
