Basketball Recap: Istrouma Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tara on Friday, Istrouma came back down to earth. The Istrouma Indians were outmatched by the White Castle Bulldogs and fell 81-51. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 62-42 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Istrouma lost on Saturday, don't look at Eryn Brown. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 45 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 88.2% of Istrouma's points, marking the 26th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Istrouma has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season. As for White Castle, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-10.

Istrouma will square off against Capitol at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Istrouma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. As for White Castle, they will challenge East Iberville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. White Castle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully East Iberville likes a good challenge.
