Baseball Game Preview: West Rusk Raiders vs. Troup Tigers

West Rusk hasn't had much luck against Troup recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The West Rusk Raiders will square off against the Troup Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Things were looking good for West Rusk after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 10-2 to Troup. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Troup's part, Caden Graves was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. That's the fewest earned runs Graves has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Joshua Childress was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Hayden Huml was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Troup lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

West Rusk's loss dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Troup, their record is now 12-5.
