Basketball Recap: June Jordan School of Equity Takes a Loss

June Jordan School of Equity lost against Marshall back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The June Jordan School of Equity Jaguars had to suffer through an 80-27 loss at the hands of the Marshall Phoenix. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why June Jordan School of Equity lost, don't look at Jacob Fitch. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points.

Marshall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Martel Peters led the charge by going 9-for-20 on his way to 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Peters has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcel Anderson, who went 5-for-9 en route to 11 points in addition to seven assists and six steals.

June Jordan School of Equity's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Marshall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

June Jordan School of Equity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marshall, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-24 defeat against Lincoln on the 20th.
