Recap: Malcolm Clippers vs. North Bend Central Tigers
The Malcolm Clippers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against North Bend Central by a score of 66-53. For Malcolm, this counts as revenge for the 48-42 defeat North Bend Central walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March.
Leading Malcolm to victory were Mckenna Powell and Halle Dolliver. Powell went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assists, while Dolliver dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dolliver has scored at least 25% of Malcolm's points. Abby Zegar was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Malcolm's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for North Bend Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Malcolm will square off against Platteview at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Bend Central, they will head out on the road to face off against West Point-Beemer on Thursday. Hopefully West Point-Beemer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
