            Basketball Recap: Hardin County Cougars vs. Gallatin County Hawks        
        
		
        
        
            Hardin County was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They were beaten by the Gallatin County Hawks 74-23. The Cougars lost against the Hawks in their previous head to head  back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the  57-33 score last time.
 Despite the  defeat, Hardin County saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Benna Williams  posted 15  points. That was a full 65.2% of Hardin County's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's   earned  more than a third of the team's points.
Hardin County's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Gallatin County,  the  victory  got them back to even at 9-9.
 A feisty cat fight is on tap when  the Hardin County Cougars  challenge   the Galatia/Thompsonville Bearcats at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Galatia/Thompsonville's defense has only allowed 28.7  points per game  this season, so Hardin County's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Gallatin County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  52-34  win against Pope County on the 25th.
