If The Vanguard School was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Colorado Springs Christian on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coursers came up short against the Lutheran Lions on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Coursers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While The Vanguard School had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-22.

Lucas Soeldner paced The Vanguard School's offense, picking up 14 kills. Soeldner got some help from Joseph Wetters and his 27 assists. Anthony Tyshkevich controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Lutheran to victory were Eli Traylor and Luke Hultberg. Traylor had two aces and one block, while Hultberg had seven digs. What's more, Traylor racked up 34 assists, the most he's had over his last five games.

The Vanguard School's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Lutheran, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
