Bethesda-Chevy Chase had already won 15 in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.9 points) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Barons also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Several Screamin' Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mina Hashemzadeh, who posted eight points along with six boards and five assists. Hashemzadeh is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Brielle Watson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Bethesda-Chevy Chase's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Seneca Valley, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.

Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Richard Montgomery will compete for holiday cheer on Monday. As for Seneca Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Paint Branch at 7:15 p.m.
