Basketball Recap: Latta Vikings vs. Cheraw Braves
Latta lost against Cheraw back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Latta Vikings lost to the Cheraw Braves on the road by a 70-55 margin. The Vikings were down 51-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Even though they lost, Latta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.
Elijah McClain had an outrageously good game for Cheraw as he went 10 for 13 en route to 26 points plus five rebounds. What's more, McClain also posted a 83% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was De'Shaun Drake, who went 6 for 15 en route to 14 points plus four steals.
Latta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Latta has already played their next matchup, a 54-52 victory against Aynor on the 4th. As for Cheraw, they will face off against Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
