Softball Recap: Rutland Hurricanes vs. Callaway Cavaliers

Rutland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 5-1 to the Callaway Cavaliers.

Hannah Huckeba spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Rutland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Bean, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Autumn Newberry also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Callaway, they will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Bowdon at 5:00 p.m. Bowdon will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Callaway surely won't give up without a fight.
