Softball Recap: Sherando Comes Up Short

Sherando blew Skyline out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Skyline got their revenge. The Sherando Warriors fell just short of the Skyline Hawks by a score of 10-8. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly two runs.

Sherando got a massive performance out of Elleana Shutts, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Makayla Williams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Sherando's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Skyline, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sherando will square off against Clarke County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Sherando has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Skyline, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Skyline Hawks challenge Fauquier Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
