Softball Recap: SouthWest Edgecombe Takes a Loss

SouthWest Edgecombe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Farmville Central Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 last Tuesday.

SouthWest Edgecombe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Iyera Winstead, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

SouthWest Edgecombe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Farmville Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. SouthWest Edgecombe will square off against Greene Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. SouthWest Edgecombe is facing Greene Central at the right time seeing as Greene Central is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Farmville Central, they will take on Ayden - Grifton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ayden - Grifton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
