Recap: Oil City Oilers vs. North East Grape Pickers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Oil City Oilers walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat North East 51-14 on the road. Considering Oil City has won seven matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethen Knox was his usual excellent self, rushing for 353 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Knox is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Oil City also got a significant boost from Jonny Hargenrader, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
North East's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamari Curlett, who gained 95 total yards and a touchdown.
The win was the third in a row for Oil City, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.33 points. As for North East, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Oil City is on the road again on Friday and play against Sharon at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. North East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
