Basketball Recap: Tintic Miners vs. Bryce Valley Mustangs

While Tintic didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past the Bryce Valley Mustangs with a 52-46 victory on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Miners as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tintic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haygen Jameson, who went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points plus eight rebounds. What's more, Jameson also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Cole Ward was another key player, scoring eight points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Cooper Owens and Luke Andrus certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Owens earned 12 points along with two steals, while Andrus went 5 for 11 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zaren Roberts, who scored ten points in addition to eight rebounds.

Tintic's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bryce Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Tintic will welcome Intermountain Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Tintic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. Bryce Valley has already played their next matchup, a 60-56 loss against Beaver on the 7th.
