Baseball Recap: Lake Havasu Has No Trouble Against Ironwood

Lake Havasu never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Ironwood Eagles as they made off with a 7-0 win. Considering the Knights have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Brock Cross's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trevor Thompson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Braden Towning was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

Lake Havasu has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ironwood, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lake Havasu beat the Eagles by a score of 10-1 later that day.
